Key events of national significance were held at Albert Hall, including annual citizenship conventions after Australian citizenship was established in 1949.

This photograph shows delegates to the sixth national convention assembled at the front of Albert Hall in January 1955. Included in their number were two later prime ministers, Gough Whitlam and Harold Holt.
