Naturalisation application by Lee Kee Chong, 1911

In 1911, storekeeper Lee Kee Chong applied for naturalisation after living in Australia for more than 30 years. He was married, with a wife and seven children living with him in Moree, New South Wales. After Federation, Chinese were not able to be naturalised, and so his application was rejected by the Department of External Affairs.
